Step on the train and arrive comfortably at Hochschober

For a comfortable and stress-free journey while you sleep, two night trains from Northern Germany are available. One runs from Berlin via Dresden to Graz, the other from Hamburg via Hanover, Göttingen and Kassel to Salzburg.

Your holiday already begins at home with the luggage service: you can send your larger luggage in advance with the Terminkurier or the ÖBB luggage service.

In the evening, simply head to the station and check into your reserved sleeping compartment with just your hand luggage – single, double or family, all with private shower and WC.

After a restful night on the train, enjoy breakfast on board. Fresh and well rested, you continue your journey after arrival by train to Klagenfurt am Wörthersee (night train from Berlin) or Spittal an der Drau (night train from Hamburg), where our taxi service (extra charge) will be waiting for you. Enjoy the beautiful landscape during the final part of your journey – and before you know it, you have reached Turracher Höhe. Lunch is already waiting for you!

The exact details:

From Berlin: The ÖBB Nightjet NJ 457 leaves Berlin Central Station at 20:11, picks up passengers in Dresden at 22:10 and arrives at Graz Central Station the next morning at 9:47. From there, the next train brings you to Klagenfurt around 11:00. After about one more hour by taxi, we will welcome you at Hotel Hochschober. The taxi costs €145 for up to 3 people.

The return train to Berlin, ÖBB Nightjet 456, departs daily from Graz at 19:21 and arrives at Berlin Central Station the following morning at 7:41.

From Hamburg: From 13 June 2026, the ÖBB Nightjet NJ 493 departs Hamburg Central Station at 19:19 and arrives in Salzburg at 6:46. The onward journey to Spittal/Drau takes about two hours – arriving either around 9:00 or 10:00. The taxi ride to Hotel Hochschober takes about one hour and costs €130 for up to 3 people.

The return journey to Hamburg runs daily from 14 June 2026, departing Salzburg at 21:23 and arriving in Hamburg at 9:08.
