Pampered with steam & fragrances
Wearing wooden shoes, available outside the hamam, and wrapped in the “peshtemal”, a chequered cloth, you enter the hamam and sit down on the warm heart stone. After warming up you change to an aroma grotto and enjoy invigorating or calming fine fragrances. Very refreshing: warm and cold water gushes, bowls are provided.
Enjoyable: relaxing in the Sultan's room
Comfortable benches, cushions, stools for your legs and small tables can be found in the hamam relaxation room “Sultan’s Chamber”. Finish off your hamam visit here while listening to the splashing of the fountain and the hissing of the samovar. Candied fruit, teas and spring water provide culinary refreshment.
Masterful: the hammam massage
Freshly washed! That’s how you feel after a hamam treatment by the “telak”, the hamam master. The “telak” rubs your body carefully with the rubbing glove “kese”, artfully massages you with soap suds and douses you in alternating cold and warm water. Your skin feels particularly fine after that – you’re cleansed and refreshed from head to toe.
First Hamam in the alps
Hotel Hochschober opened the hamam in 1998, then the first hamam in the Alps. Travels to the Orient inspired the Leeb family to establish this special place of cleansing and relaxation for their guests. Ever since opening, a hamam master from Turkey has instructed Hochschober employees in the art of the hamam lavation. Find out how to do a hamam lavation yourself during the introductions that are a regular feature of the hotel programme.
Immerse yourself in an oriental world during your holiday at Hotel Hochschober and let yourself be enveloped by the pleasant temperatures and the fine scents in the steam bath. Send us an inquiry and we will find the right time for your break in Hochschober.
The Hochschober hamam, the first hamam in the Alps when it opened, allows you to experience oriental bathing culture first-hand.
