Lakeside sauna with a view: the first construction phase 2026 at Hotel Hochschober

At Hochschober, a new favourite place is taking shape in 2026 for those who seek to combine tranquillity, warmth and nature.
With the first construction phase, we are expanding our wellness area directly by Lake Turrach – carefully embedded in the alpine landscape of the Turracher Höhe in Carinthia.

New event sauna by the lake – spacious & atmospheric

The centrepiece of the new area is a 70 m² sauna directly by the lake, designed for special infusion experiences.
Here, soothing heat, selected aromas and views of the mountains come together to create an intense wellness moment.

The new sauna offers:

• space for up to 50 guests
• ideal conditions for guided infusion rituals
• a generous sense of space with a panoramic connection to nature

Relaxation rooms & sunbathing lawn by Lake Turrach

The new wellness area is complemented by:

• stylish relaxation rooms with views of Lake Turrach
• a newly designed sunbathing lawn directly by the water
• more space for relaxation, retreat and regeneration

This creates a harmonious balance between being active in the mountains and consciously unwinding in the spa.

Architecture in harmony with nature

The new sauna extension will be implemented at ground level and in a landscape-conscious way.
The aim is to make the unique location at Hochschober even more tangible – with seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces.

As part of the redesign, the existing panorama sauna will be removed.
The view will open up – including towards the Chinaturm, which will become even more prominent.

The first construction phase marks the beginning of a comprehensive further development of Hochschober.
The focus lies on quality, spaciousness and the conscious experience of nature, movement and relaxation.

And this is only the beginning: further construction phases will follow in 2027 and 2028, gradually expanding Hochschober and creating even more space for special moments of wellbeing.
