Like everywhere else in our new everyday life, rules now also apply on holiday for the safety of all of us. These includes distance rules, the wearing of mouth-and-nose protection in certain areas, increased hygiene measures in front of and behind the scenes.
MEASURES AND INFORMATION AGAINST THE SPREAD OF THE CORONAVIRUS
Carinthia is a safe holiday destination with high safety standards and, in comparison with Austria, very low numbers of illnesses in the last few months. You can find the exact number of cases and statistics for Austria here, updated daily.
The safety of our guests and employees is important to us. In order to avoid clusters of infections, there is a voluntary test program in Carinthia for all employees in tourism. For restaurants the details have been fixed. For accommodation and leisure activities (sports, fitness, wellness) the specifications are in the making. At Hochschober we are in the process of integrating all measures into our processes. As soon as we know all the details and have coordinated everything, we will inform our guests by newsletter and via our social media channels.

Booking & Arrival
Until further notice we have adjusted the cancellation conditions to the current situation. Should the Covid-19 pandemic lead to local or personal travel restrictions (such as quarantine or ban on entering Austria), no cancellation fees will be charged.
In general we ask you to arrive healthy.

At the reception we have separated the check-in and check-out area to keep a better distance and to be able to serve you in the best possible way.
To shorten waiting times, we ask our guests to send us the information for the check-in by email before arrival. Each guest will receive the information personally in advance with our pre-stay-email.
Mouth and nose protector
For the best possible corona prevention, it is mandatory to wear mouth and nose protection in all hotel interiors. Exceptions are situations where you take a seat at the table or go to rest on a lounger. We ask you politely to follow this provision. Common sense states that wearing a mask is not reasonable when swimming or being in a sauna or steam bath. Please keep distance during all activities as much as possible.
All of our employees wear a visor or mouth and nose protection.
You are welcome to bring your own new holiday accessory with you. Of course, we also have masks ready for you at reception.
Washing machines, dryers and irons are available in the washroom for washing masks you have brought with you.
Hygiene in the room
The daily room cleaning was adapted to the new standards and developed together with our hygiene partner. Our chambermaids work with detergents containing disinfectants. The laundry is washed by a professional company according to the strict hygiene regulations.
You will also find a hygiene set with disinfectant and a guide to "Safe HochschoberN" in your room.
Of course, we would like to continue to offer you the usual Hochschober-culinary delights of a combination of buffet and served dishes, in compliance with the new regulations.
Lunch will take place from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in a new combination of prepared dishes and a new salad buffet. From now on we will accompany you to your beautiful table in our See-Stube at noon.
Wellness area & Spa
You can enjoy our range of massages and cosmetics as usual in compliance with the new hygiene and safety regulations.
Our spacious wellness area with 5000 square meters offers a lot of space and is open in compliance with the minimum distance and the maximum number of people allowed as well as the official requirements.
In the relaxation rooms, the loungers / double loungers are placed so that the distance of 1 meter is maintained.
On 4,000 square meters of the entire outdoor area, the loungers are placed in such a way that you not only have the minimum distance to your neighbors, but also much more free space and privacy.
We will continue to offer you snacks and drinks at the fountain of youth in compliance with the new hygiene and safety rules.
SAFE DURING WINTER
Snow & safety - the essential cornerstones
- When queuing - if a minimum distance of one meter is not possible - when taking the lift and in the “Nocky Shuttle”, mouth and nose protection is required. You get a practical "buff" when you buy a ski pass.
- Disinfectant dispensers are set up in numerous places.
- All self-service huts switch to table service.
- No large-scale events will take place in the Turracher Höhe winter.
- The group size is limited in ski courses.
- Gondolas, armchairs and interiors are regularly disinfected.
- Ski courses take place with a maximum of 10 people.

Programme of activities
The programme of activities takes place in small groups, in compliance with the minimum distance and the maximum number of people allowed, as well as the official requirements.
We are still waiting for detailed information on the form in which we may offer our childcare. As soon as we get the regulation for this, we will inform you immediately.
Our cleaning & disinfection plan was coordinated on the basis of the current hygiene guidelines of the Austrian Hotel Association.
We are also working together with the Best Alpine Wellness Hotels on a special hygiene certification according to Corona standards.
- Disinfection stands are distributed throughout the hotel at sensible locations (restaurant, reception, spa, Basislager, wellness area).
- The cleaning intervals are increased.
- All rooms are regularly additionally disinfected.
- All door handles are regularly additionally disinfected.
- All detergents contain disinfectants.
Of course you can pay contactlessly and we ask you to refrain from cash payments at the moment.

What does Hotel Hochschober do in the event of an infection in the hotel?
If there is a suspected case of COVID-19 in the hotel, we have worked out a detailed plan of action together with our medical adviser and the authorities in order to implement the right measures immediately.
- Please let us know if you are not feeling well or ill. Our reception team is trained and can help you professionally.
- The person who is ill must stay in the room with their family members.
- We will contact our doctor immediately.
- In case of suspicion, the doctor will inform the health authorities.
- Professional disinfection of the room.
