3. ENTRY INTO AUSTRIA / EXIT FROM AUSTRIA
Together with the opening steps, the Covid-19 entry regulation will be adjusted. In future, this will be based on the EU's ECDC card. Please inform yourself there about the regulations that apply to you. Further information can be found here.
4. THE "OPEN SESAME!" - THE "2 G's"
The current COVID regulations relating to the accommodation providers apply (as of January 6th, 2022). We reserve the right to take measures to ensure the greatest possible safety for our guests and employees that go beyond the legal framework and requirements. We will update these measures on an ongoing basis in accordance with the current situation.
Please make sure that you can provide proof of the 2G required by law for your journey to the Hochschober.
Which evidence applies to the 2G rule?
The following certificates are considered 2-G certificates:
• A recovery certificate is valid for 180 days.
• A medical confirmation is valid for 180 days after an infection with SARS-CoV-2 has expired. This must have been proven by molecular biology (e.g. PCR test).
• An official secretion notice is also valid for 180 days.
The EU-compliant vaccination certificate, the yellow vaccination pass, a vaccination card and a printout or PDF (e.g. on the mobile phone) of the data from the e-vaccination pass are valid as proof of vaccination.
• Immunization through two partial vaccinations: After receiving the second vaccination, the validity of the vaccination certificate is 360 days and at least 14 days must have elapsed between the two vaccinations.
From December 6th, this vaccination certificate is valid for 270 days. If you decide to have a vaccination shortly before your arrival, the ordinance provides for a transition period until December 6th within which you are already considered vaccinated if you bring the 1st prick and a valid negative PCR test with you.
Who is exempt from the 2G rule?
The obligation to submit proof of 2G does not apply to people who have no proof of vaccination or recovery and who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons. In such cases, evidence from an authorized body of a negative PCR test, which must not be older than 72 hours, must be presented together with a medical certificate.
REGULATIONS FOR CHILDREN
- Children up to the age of 12 do not need proof of a low epidemiological risk. Children from the age of 12 need appropriate proof of a low epidemiological risk:
- Upon entry, the 2.5 G rule applies (vaccinated, recovered or PCR test)
- Analogous to the general framework conditions, for example, 2G proof is required for entry into accommodation, restaurants, sports facilities, leisure facilities, ski lifts or events.
For school-age children, however, the schools “ninja pass” is equivalent to the 2G proof. If the test intervals are adhered to during the week in accordance with the school regulations (a PCR test at least twice a week), the "Ninja Pass" is also valid on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the respective week as 2G proof for restaurants and hotels. All adolescents born after August 31, 2006 are considered to be school-compulsory.
There is a special regulation for the school-free period:
For children of school age in Austria who can present a valid test certificate during the school-free period from Monday to Friday (at least 2 times a week a PCR test), this is still valid as 2G certificate. All further details on this, in particular on the documentation, are currently being worked out together with the Ministry of Health. The period of validity for antigen tests is 48 hours and for PCR tests 72 hours from sampling.
According to the Ministry of Tourism, this system should also apply to children (up to the age of 15) who travel to Austria and do not have a “ninja pass”.
Every holiday guest (no matter where you're from) can pick up PCR test kits free of charge from participating pharmacies and savings stores. Each person can collect a total of three free tests per week. Anyone wishing to take advantage of this offer must register using the gurgle test system used in Carinthia at test.zmdx.at.
Guests from abroad simply leave the "Social Security Number" field blank. The address of the hotel can also be given for the address.
You can find where these tests can be picked up at the following link: https://coronainfo.ktn.gv.at/EN/kaernten-gurgelt
The tests carried out can be handed in at any SPAR branch (supermarket) or pharmacy for analysis. The result will be communicated digitally (by SMS / email) after approx. 24 hours.

8. FFP2 MASKs
In all hotel interiors - wherever you move - the FFP2 mask requirement applies. You can also purchase these in our on-site shop. Exceptions are the situations where you take a seat at the table or go to rest on a lounger, for example.
Common sense says that wearing a mask is unreasonable when swimming or in the hot air or steam cabins. Please keep your distance from other people as much as possible during all activities.
Do children, toddlers and babies also have to wear an FFP2 mask or mouth and nose protection?
Mouth and nose protection is only mandatory for children from their 6th birthday. If an FFP2 mask is required, this only applies from the age of 14. Children under 6 years of age do not need to wear a mask.
9. VENTILATION DEVICES / FRESH AIR SUPPLY
The goal is to bring as much outside air into rooms as is reasonably possible. This air exchange takes place through natural ventilation (windows and doors) as well as through our mechanical ventilation systems (air conditioning systems - RLT systems).
Our mechanical ventilation systems are maintained and looked after by the Heizbösch company. The mechanical ventilation systems have all been checked and updated for Corona standards to reduce the virus load.
10. Hygiene in the room
The daily room cleaning was adapted to the new standards and developed together with our hygiene partner. Our chambermaids work with detergents containing disinfectants. The laundry is washed by a professional company according to the strict hygiene regulations.
You will also find a hygiene set with disinfectant and a guide to "Safe HochschoberN" in your room.

15. Hygiene measures
Our cleaning and disinfection plan was coordinated on the basis of the current hygiene guidelines of the Austrian Hotel Association.
Disinfection racks are distributed in sensible places throughout the house (restaurant, reception, crystal spa, base camp, wellness area and, above all, elevators). The cleaning intervals are increased. All rooms are also regularly disinfected. All door handles are also disinfected on a regular basis. All cleaning agents contain disinfectants.
At the reception we have structurally separated the check-in and check-out areas in order to keep a better distance and provide you with the best possible care.
It is also possible to settle the bill the evening before by 10:00 p.m. or on the day of departure from 7:00 a.m. throughout the day. You can of course make contactless payments or we ask you to refrain from paying with cash at the moment.

The Hochschober team is committed to its own and third-party protection to comply with hygiene and distance standards and is continuously trained as part of the employee academy. Every employee keeps a daily health diary. We do weekly PCR tests. All employees who have not recovered or have not been vaccinated are fully tested. All employees wear an FFP2 mask.
Around 85% of the employees in the Hochschober team have already been vaccinated or have recovered.
18. What does Hotel Hochschober do in the event of an infection in the hotel?
