Readings, book presentations and stimulating talks in the "Wortreich" library
Holidays at last. Finally there's time for reading! For book fans, the Hotel Hochschober has established its own library with reading salon: a special treat during your holiday in Carinthia. Also taking place in the "Wortreich" library is the "Literature on the Mountain" literary events that offer regular readings and talks for adults and children alike.
The library as a meeting place
Since its opening, the "Wortreich" library has played host to the “Literature on the Mountain” literary events. Within this schedule of events, talks with enthusiastic audience participation take place: authors read from their books, celebrities present their favourite books, experts take you to explore foreign cultures and philosophical salons open up the mind to new worlds.
Distinguished speakers
We have welcomed the following guests to the "Wortreich" library: popular Austrian culture journalist Dr. Barbara Rett; famed local chocolatier Josef Zotter from Styria; Austria's one and only astronaut DI Franz Viehböck; scriptwriter Caroline Link ("Nowhere in Africa"); distinguished writer and journalist Helmut A. Gansterer; storyteller Folke Tegetthoff; Volker Klüpfel and Michael Kobr of "Kommissar Kluftinger" fame; the children's book author Andrea Erne and many more.
"Literature on the Mountain" – upcoming literary events
The book readings, combined with talks and discussions, usually take place after dinner in the hotel library. They last between one and two hours.
